How FeedScholar compares with other paper alert tools

Each page sets one tool beside FeedScholar, row by row, gives that tool credit for what it does well, and ends with a verdict. Competitor details are stated as of mid-2026.

• FeedScholar vs Google Scholar alerts

Google Scholar alerts match keywords and flood your inbox. FeedScholar uses AI to send only the papers in your exact subfield, with a reason for each.

• FeedScholar vs Scholar Inbox

Scholar Inbox is a strong free research feed from Tübingen. FeedScholar adds a conversational setup, a written reason per paper, and paid depth tools.

• FeedScholar vs R Discovery

R Discovery is a mobile-first research app. FeedScholar is email-first: no app to check, only the few papers that matter, in your inbox.

• FeedScholar vs Feedly / RSS readers

RSS gives you every article a journal publishes. FeedScholar follows those same journals and sends only papers in your exact subfield.
